Dr Leigh Tooth
After graduating in Occupational Therapy from
the University of Queensland in 1990, I spent almost
three years working in adult physical rehabilitation
in the United Kingdom before returning to Australia
to complete my PhD. My PhD research was in the area
of patient and family education, for patients
undergoing angioplasty.
Following this I have worked as a post-doctoral
research fellow in the Department of Occupational
Therapy and The School of Population Health at the
University of Queensland. I am currently employed
on a NHMRC Public Health Fellowship, specifically
to study the long term outcomes (functional, health
status, health service utilisation) of patients 6
and 12 months post stroke.
While not officially joining the capacity grant team
until August 2003, I have begun working with the team
on particular topics of interest.
My particular interests are measuring change, the
meaningfulness of change and responsiveness of health
measures.
My non-work life includes my husband Phil, our weekend
farm retreat, my horse Sunny and cat Coco!
